Primary Schools

Although some Primary Schools use the High School techniques, the most common technique used by Primary Schools is called "Timetabling by Exception" or "Reverse Timetabling".

The idea of Reverse Timetabling is to focus on creating a timetable for the specialist teachers (Art, Music, PE, etc). Then the home/core teacher takes the class in the OTHER times. So blank periods on the timetable indicate students are with their home/core teacher.
